BIO230 — Introduction to Soil Science

3 Cr. Per Week: 2 Lec. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental principles of soil science: their origin; nature and constitution; and their chemical, physical and biological properties. Soils are explored in relation to their importance to the environment and to their uses for plant growth management. Emphasis will be placed on what constitutes soil and how it operates within the overall biosphere.
