HIS225 — Holocausts: From Rome to Rwanda
3 Cr. Per Week: 3 Lec. This course is a political, cultural and social survey of the development and expression of genocide and anti-Semitism in Western culture, beginning with its origins during the Roman Empire and following developments through the early twentieth century. A case study will focus attention on its ultimate expression during the Jewish Holocaust of World War II. The course will conclude by questioning, in the light of ethnic cleansing and holocaust denial, whether Western Civilization has learned anything.
