HUS102 — Human Services Internship I

3 Cr. Per Week: 3 Lec. Classwork and field experience are combined to provide for an integration of theoretical concepts and their practical application. Students will spend one hour per week in the classroom and a minimum of 90 volunteer hours over the semester in an approved human service agency under the supervision of an experienced professional. Students are expected to develop appropriate learning skills with the assistance and approval of their Instructor. Internship placements should be selected on the basis of student’s areas of interest (e.g., Early Childhood Education, Gerontology, Disability Studies, Social Work, etc.). Restricted to Human Services, Chemical Dependency Counseling, Early Childhood Studies and Disability Studies majors.
