HUS141 — Direct Support Professional Level II Certification Prep

3 Cr. Per Week: 3 Lec The course aligns with the national certification to Direct Support Professionals through The National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) and prepares students to earn the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) competency badges for Level II. Through a study of service strategies based on current theory and practice, this course is designed to provide a solid foundation in evaluation and observation; communication; professionalism and ethics; and community inclusion and networking necessary to provide basic direct support services in a variety of settings such as child/day care centers, personal care, elder care, or independent living facilities.
