LIT213 — American Literature to 1865

3 Cr. Per Week: 3 Lec. LIT 213 is designed to be a survey of the diverse literature of American writers from the pre-Colonial period to approximately the Civil War period. Although this course concentrates on the major names and texts considered part of the “canon” we will also read from among the “non-canonical” writers and pieces of this early period.
