MAS112 — Western Massage Therapy

2 Cr. Per Week: 2 Lec. In this lecture course, students develop a foundation in contemporary Western massage. Students will learn the proper use of massage oils and set up of the massage table. Research-based benefits, precautions, and contraindications of massage therapy will be discussed along with endangerment sites, and proper hygiene including standard precautions. Students will receive instruction in effective documentation of pertinent medical history, treatment implementation and response to treatment. Note: This is not a hands-on course. Restricted to MAS students.
