MAS115 — Eastern Massage Therapy

1 Cr. Per Week: 1 Lec. This lecture course is designed to give the student a solid foundation in the theory and practice of Shiatsu, a Japanese healing art based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Exploring Eastern principles of Yin and Yang and Five Element Theory, students will learn to look for the underlying causes of disease from an Eastern perspective. Specific knowledge of indications and contraindications for the use of Shiatsu will also be addressed. Note: This is not a hands-on course. Restricted to MAS students.
