3 Cr. Per Week: 3 Lec The course introduces the student to law enforcement practices in New York State and the United States. The course is authorized by the New York State Code of Rules and Regulations (9 CRR-NY 6020) and is presented in the form prescribed in that same code (9 CRR-NY 6026). The course covers police patrolling principles and practices, including DWI detection, standardized field sobriety testing, arrest processing, report writing, electronic communications, and professional communications. Students must be accepted to the current Law Enforcement Training Academy class in order to register for the course.
