PHA150 — Pharmacology for Substance Abuse Counselors
3 Cr. Per Week: 3 Lec. This course is an introduction to the topics in pharmacology that are most relevant to students studying to become substance abuse counselors. Major topics will include: basic neurobiology; psychopharmacological principles; issues of MICA/dual-diagnosed clients; the treatment of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder and personality disorders; and the treatment of chemical dependency and co-occurring conditions.
