PHY172 — Calculus-Based Physics II

4 Cr. Per Week: 3 Lec. The second of four calculus-based general physics courses supporting the customary baccalaureate science or engineering degree requirement. The subjects covered in PHY 172 are centered on electromagnetic phenomena. Topics include static electricity, fields and potentials, capacitance, resistance, DC circuits, RC circuits, magnetic forces and fields, induction, RL circuits, AC circuits, RLC circuits and Maxwell’s equations.
