PSY270 — Psychology of Teaching and Learning

3 Cr. Per Week: 3 Lec. The course examines the principles of psychology as they apply to education and is designed to provide the psychological foundation for future educational methods courses. It is recommended for students considering education as a major area of study. Major topics include student characteristics and variability, standardized tests and the assessment of student abilities and achievement, coping with diversity in the classroom, psychological approaches to education, motivation and maintaining an effective learning environment.
