PSY290 — Biopsychology

3 Cr. Per Week: 3 Lec. This course explores the relationship between biological and psychological processes. Students will examine the fundamental principles of neuroscience, including brain structure and function, neural communication, and the biological basis of behavior. Key topics include the neuroanatomy of the human brain, neurotransmitter systems, the impact of genetics on behavior, and the role of the nervous system in regulating emotions, cognition, and perception. In addition, the biological explanations of behavior will be discussed in relation to physiology, evolution, learning, memory, motivation, psychopathology, and the recovery of function following injury.
