ABG - 100 Histories and Impacts of Colonization ABG - 100 Histories and Impacts of Colonization 3 Credit(s) This course provides an exploration of the historical relationships, colonial contexts, and social, economic and political influences that have impacted Indigenous peoples and communities. Students will examine pre-contact ways of knowing, grounded in local teachings, while exploring the ramifications of the process of colonization, including treaties, the Indian Act, residential schools, and other legislative attempts to assimilate Indigenous peoples into Euro-Canadian socio-political paradigm.
