FIN - 251 Modern Art History and Visual Culture: Special Topics FIN - 251 Modern Art History and Visual Culture: Special Topics 3 Hours This special topics course examines specific historical movements within the modern era from the 19 th to 21 st centuries and the impacts to the development of art and architecture through the lens of contemporary visual culture. The course content will be shaped by a thematic concept as an entry point to investigate visual language through the phases of production and reception. The course material integrates methodologies of critical cultural theory to deconstruct how art serves as a cultural artifact exposing the intersections of values, knowledge, power, and technology.
