NUR - 420 Advanced Pharmacology in Nursing Practice NUR - 420 Advanced Pharmacology in Nursing Practice 3 Credit(s) This pharmacology course provides the opportunity for students to consolidate their learning of the medications used in the management of common acute and chronic health challenges across the life-spans. An overview of alternative medicine as a complement to conventional medicine is included. Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles, as well as the nurse’s role in drug therapy, are integrated as a means to maximize therapeutic efficacy and minimize adverse drug reactions. Ethical, economic and legal issues, regarding medications are addressed.
