SOC - 210 Sociology of Race, Ethnicity & Nation SOC - 210 Sociology of Race, Ethnicity & Nation 3 Credit(s) This course provides a critical examination of the relations between ethnic groups and cultures emphasizing discrimination, the dynamics of global inequality, racism, colonialism and imperialism, assimilation and anti-racist resistance. The emphasis of the course may vary to respond to contemporary issues, although the experience of the racialized peoples and indigenous peoples in Canada will remain a key focus. Students are encouraged to consider the Canadian experience in a global comparative context.
