SSA - 100 The Solar System and Space Exploration SSA - 100 The Solar System and Space Exploration 3 Credit(s) This is a multi-disciplinary lab science course that will introduce topics in astronomy and space science including: the motion of the Sun, Moon, stars and planets in the night sky; the objects in the Solar System, their properties and their formation; gravitational theory and laws of planetary motion; light, optics and telescopes; the search for other life in our Solar System; as well as current and future space exploration. Students will learn about the scientific method and apply these principles in a variety of lab exercises and observing projects. Prerequisite(s): C in English 11 or equivalent or successful English assessment C+ in one of Principles of Math 11, Foundations of Math 11, Pre-Calculus, MAT 053 or MAT 055 ; or successful math assessment Corequisite(s): Take SSA-100L For information about transferability: BC Transfer Guide For more information visit our timetable
