SSW - 150 Social Services Practice Experience I SSW - 150 Social Services Practice Experience I 5 Credit(s) This full-time practicum completes the first year of Social Services training. The practicum is 168 hours (typically 24 hours per week for 7 weeks) and 14 hours of seminar (typically 2 hours per week for 7 weeks). This course enables the student to combine theory and practice in a social services work setting. Students must successfully complete this practicum at an employment readiness level in order to continue with the second year of the Social Services Diploma. Each placement site is unique, offering learning shaped by its mandate, client population, and service model, allowing students to adapt their practice to diverse contexts. Learning is supported through seminars that connect field learning with professional theory and practice.
