SOIL 117 - Introduction to Soil Science Add to My NLC Calendar SOIL 117 - Introduction to Soil Science (3.0 credits) Students examine soil forming processes, physical and chemical properties of soils, plant nutrient needs, soil fertility and fertilizer use, and the Canadian System of Soil Classification. The course also introduces students to the Canadian Land Inventory system, the relevance of the Agricultural Land Commission and the Agricultural Land Reserve, and the interpretation and use of soil maps and reports. ~
