The overall purpose is to encourage learners to explore society from many perspectives. It provides learners with a variety of conceptual tools to analyze and assess these perspectives. It allows learners to assemble these perspectives and articulate a point of view. It enables learners to revise their points of view through experiencing the different values and cultures of other people. ~
