SOWK 201 - Introduction to Social Welfare Add to My NLC Calendar SOWK 201 - Introduction to Social Welfare (3.0 credits) This course introduces students to the complex system of social welfare in Canada from a critical social work perspective. Social programs are guided by social policy therefore various influences on social policy development are also explored. Particular, attention is paid to the differential impact of social policy on the well-being of various groups in society including our political system, Ideology, globalization and professional social work. ~
