ACC 214 — Federal Taxation I
A study of the basic theory of the federal income tax law as it affectsindividuals and business. Among the topics examined are thecomputation of gross income, exclusions, capital gains and losses,property transactions, and various business and personal deductions. ACC 220 Intermediate Accounting II 3 credits / 3 class hrs Continuation of ACC 210. This is the second semester of a two-semester course designed to give the student an in-depth overview ofGenerally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial reporting ofcorporate structured businesses. Emphasis is placed on specialproblems which may include debt and equity financing, leases,investments, capitalizing interest, and employee compensation. Otherdimensions of financial reporting, such as earnings per share,accounting changes and error corrections, are also covered. Practicalapplication will be implemented using a computerized homeworksystem and case studies. Prerequisite: ACC 210
