AUT 116 — Brakes

Exposes students to the automotive brake system and covers in detailthe theory, operation, diagnosis, and repair of these systems. Studentswill have the opportunity to learn about drum brakes, disc brakes, andcombinations of the two, along with parking brake systems and powerassist. Principles of hydraulics will be discussed as it pertains to thebrake system. The various switches, valves and electronic componentsrelated to the standard brake system and anti-lock brake system willbe discussed and diagnosed. Prerequisite: AUT 114 or instructor’spermission
