This course provides nursing students with knowledge aboutfundamental concepts of nutrition across the lifespan, including therelationship of nutrition to health, necessary nutrients for healthyfunctioning, energy balance and fitness, food safety, and nationalguidelines, with applications to individuals and groups. Strategies includeclassroom presentations, nutritional assessments of self and case-studyclients, planning of interventions, and evaluation of various nutritionalapproaches.
