PLH 101 — Plumbing Technology

This course will introduce the student to the fundamental principles ofplumbing technology. The course stresses quality plumbinginstallations along with the basic knowledge of how plumbingsystems function in relationship to the Maine State Plumbing Code.The course begins with safety, fundamentals of plumbing drainage,venting of the plumbing system, potable water pipe installation,subsurface drainage systems, pipe and fitting identification andseveral other basic principles of the art of plumbing. Common methodsof pipe fitting assembly such as copper, IPS, PEX and PVC systems,drain waste and vent system fundamental and sizing, potable waterfundamentals, fixture installation and plumbing service are covered.
