This course provides the student with a basic understanding of how microorganisms exist, grow, reproduce and cause disease. This is fundamental to an understanding of the facts and principles essential to safe allied health practice. This course is a necessary basis for all forms of nursing, both basic and advanced, as well as a basis for all surgical technicians. Every procedure perfomed has the ability to transfer infection and initiate some type of disease process.
