MAT050 — Foundations of Mathematics Literacy

This course is designed to strengthen basic math skills and to provide students with the necessary foundations for mathematics literacy. Topics include solving relevant mathematical problems using numeracy, mathematical thinking and investigations, proportional reasoning, personal financial applications and fundamental algebraic reasoning. Use of technology is integrated throughout the course. Successful completion of this course with a grade of C or better confers mathematics proficiency and satisfies prerequisites for the following: MAT 110, MAT 002, .
