This course is designed to help students apply critical thinking skills to news. Students learn principles of journalism and how to analyze print and visual stories. The course addresses news values, objectivity, bias, and sourcing. Students identify characteristics of mis/disinformation. Analyzing current events helps students navigate news in their personal, professional and civic lives.
