SOC202 — Race, Gender, and Class
This course analyzes inequities based on personal and social identities such as race, ethnicity, gender, social class, and sexuality. Through critical thinking and reflection students will examine how power and privilege create ideologies to justify discrimination. The course also explores transforming these ideologies and implicit biases to respect and appreciate diversity and difference. Additionally, it covers the impact of human activity on the planet and environmental racism's effects on minority groups.
