SRG122 — Surgical Instruments and Sterilization

The surgical technology student will correlate the impact of microbiology and infectious process in relationship to the practice of sterile technique and infection control in the operative setting. The learner will explore principles and practices related to sterile storage, distribution, environmental disinfection of the operating room, methods of disinfection and sterilization. The learner will be able to identify the equipment and instruments used in the surgical setting. This course satisfies open elective requirement.
