EMS1500 — Emergency Medical Technician - Basic

Add to Personal Catalog This course is designed for preparation of the Emergency Medical Technician Basic. Includes the anatomy and physiology of the human body, techniques of emergency treatment of various injuries and emgergency situations, and other topics related to emergency medical and first aid practices. Course includes 188 hours of classroom and laboratory instruction and 24 hours of ambulance ride-time or emergency room observation. The course meets the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) curriculum and Wyoming EMS Licensure standards. Successful completion of the course prepares the student to take the national registry written examination and the Wyoming practical assessment. Prerequisite: Consent of Instructor (60 hrs lec, 60 hrs lab, 48 hrs clinical)
