ASLN 225 — Deaf-Blind Interpreting

This course will examine the implications of hearing loss and visual impairment upon a deaf-blind student's learning process and language acquisition. Basic strategies of tactual and restricted field interpreting and adaptation in the delivery of linguistic and non-linguistic information will be explored. Collaborative models for interaction between the educational interpreter and additional resource personnel from outside agencies will be analyzed. (Fall Only) Code 2 course fee.
