CRIM 253 — Ethics in Criminal Justice
This course explores ethical theories and dilemmas pertaining to the American criminal justice system, including those in law enforcement, courts, adjudication, punishment, and corrections. It examines the fundamentals of ethical decision making through the perspectives of virtue ethics, formalism, and utilitarianism. Specific moral principles and choices that must be made by the criminal justice professionals today will be discussed.
