ENGL 215 — The Graphic Novel
This course provides instruction on the history, influence, and interpretation of graphic texts (including comics and graphic novels). Focusing on twentieth and twenty-first century western and non-western works in translation and emphasizing the diversity of the subjects and authors, the course traces the development of graphic texts, exploring their aesthetic and cultural achievement in memoir, non-fiction, and fiction. Code 1 course fee.
