PTA 2014 - Manual Techniques and Advanced Interventions PTA 2014 - Manual Techniques and Advanced Interventions 4 Credit Hours Course Description: This specialized course prepares Physical Therapist Assistant students to safely and competently apply manual therapy techniques and advanced therapeutic interventions in complex patient care situations. Students will develop expertise in wound care, cardiopulmonary physical therapy, soft tissue mobilization including lymphatic management, and emergency response protocols while gaining hands-on experience with sophisticated therapeutic equipment and interprofessional collaboration. The course emphasizes data collection, evidence-informed clinical reasoning, patient safety, infection control, and professional communication across diverse healthcare settings. Through comprehensive laboratory experiences, simulated patient scenarios, and interprofessional learning opportunities, students will master the application wound care interventions, manual therapy and cardiopulmonary techniques. The course provides in-depth coverage of tissue healing principles, neurological assessment, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response protocols.
