The course focus is the profession of respiratory care and the operation of respiratory care departments and health care organizations. Theory covered in the course includes the operation of respiratory care departments, staff positions and their responsibility, regulations and policy that affect the practice of respiratory care. Professional communication, patient education and safe behavior in the healthcare environment are also included in this course. Prerequisites: ENGL 0203, adequate placement score, or by meeting determined placement measures
