BIO168 — Survey of Human Anatomy

Credits: “Survey of Human Anatomy” is a one-semester course on the study of the structure and function of the human body. Topics include homeostasis, basic chemistry, cell structure, tissues, and the following body systems: integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, urinary, digestive, and reproductive. Upon satisfactory course completion, the successful student will demonstrate an understanding of the basic chemistry of the cell and cellular structure, identify and describe organ systems, and demonstrate an understanding of the basic physiology of organ systems. This course is intended for students preparing for non-clinical roles in healthcare. This course fulfills the SUNY General Education Natural Sciences requirement. Pre/ Demonstrate an understanding of the concept of homeostasis as it applies to physiological processes. Understand the scientific process. Identify and describe the anatomy of organ systems. Demonstrate an understanding of the physiology of organ systems.
