ENG229 — The Novel

Credits: A focused study of the novel examining its development, characteristics, and themes. Students will read, discuss, and write about the work of various novelists within their social, ideological, and/or historical contexts. The class will emphasize the analysis of the novel as a genre as well as its technical and formal aspects. Novels chosen for this course represent a variety of perspectives, time periods, cultures, and/or nationalities. Designation(s): Liberal Arts
