HIT229 — Professional Practice Experience II

Credits: Students in the health information technology program are required to complete a professional practice experience within a healthcare setting. The main purpose of this experience is to integrate the didactic (lecture) component with the clinical (practice) components. Students will utilize the knowledge they have gained from the classroom lectures and laboratory experiences in the clinical setting. Each student will spend 15 days (120 hours) in a health care facility. Students may be required to complete activities within a simulated electronic medical record. The student is responsible for the arrangement and costs of transportation to and from the clinical site, parking, and proper work attire. Learning
