PHY102 — The Physics of Light & Sound
Credits: This course is an introduction to physical principles that are of importance in the arts. The study of light including color mixing, color perception, lenses, and photography. The study of sound including sound perception, musical instruments, musical scales, and harmony. This course is for students who plan to pursue a career in art or music. It is recommended that the student has completed one year of high school algebra. This course will not satisfy math/science/computer elective requirements in the Math and Science, Engineering Science, and Laboratory Science programs. Additionally, it will not satisfy SUNY Gen Ed Area(s): Natural Sciences Designation(s): Liberal Arts
