SOC103H — Honors Introductory Sociology
Credits: This course is a foundational introduction to the broad range of topics encompassed in the “science of society.” Students will learn how to study society with sociological research methodologies and how to interpret research findings with sociological theories and analysis. Students will explore major sociological topics including but not limited to cults and authority, media, race and ethnicity, social inequality, public health, the family, religion, deviance, and socialization processes. As an honors course, students will be required to complete an advanced sociological research paper or proposal. Open to Honors College students only.
