CHN 101 - Elementary Chinese 1 CHN 101 - Elementary Chinese 1 Credits/Units: 3 cr. (Fall Only) Elementary Chinese 1 is an introductory course in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese that aims to develop the student’s vocabulary, pronunciation, and mastery of simple conversations. Using an interactive approach to build student confidence in listening, speaking, reading and writing the Chinese language, the course introduces students to the predominant dialect of Mainland China and at the same time offer students insight into Chinese culture.
