CSS 223 - Information Security CSS 223 - Information Security Credits/Units: 3 cr. This course is designed to familiarize the student with the foundation utilized by most organizations in developing a management framework that will implement a secure, predictable and dependable system throughout the organization. In addition, it will students preparing to take the Certified Information Systems Security Professional Exam (CISSP). This is a first course in the introduction and study of Information security. A broad view of the field is provided along with enough detail to facilitate an understanding of the topic as a whole. All pertinent terminology is covered, along with the field’s history and an overview of how to implement and manage an information security plan. Readings and cases are provided to further enable a student to master the text material while bringing realistic security issues to the forefront. Readings from current periodicals in the information security will also be reviewed. Prerequisite: CIT 116
