ENG 097 - Beginning Integrated Reading/Writing ENG 097 - Beginning Integrated Reading/Writing Credits/Units: 4 units In this course, students develop critical reading, writing, and thinking abilities in preparation for success in college-level courses. In academic paragraphs, students develop ideas in relation to moderately challenging and complex texts. Students will spend time in class working both individually and in a group context and will have the opportunity through skill review, peer workshops, and writing assignments for traditional practice in techniques of effective reading and writing. Students are required to attend ten 50-minute sessions at the Reading/Writing Center. Prerequisite: Placement in WRT 030 and / or RDG 070 or by permission of department chair
