This course offers a survey of the history of Africans and African-Americans in the British North American colonies and the United States, from the beginnings of the forced migration of enslaved Africans to the Americas to the present day. The course will address the many political, cultural, social, labor, and literary events and movements that shaped African and African-Americans, & that Africans & African Americans ed to shape.
