PES 171 - Step Aerobics PES 171 - Step Aerobics Credits/Units: .5 cr. This course emphasizes low impact activities designed to improve cardio-respiratory function, muscle tone, strength and flexibility. Rhythmic aerobic sessions are performed with a small platform used to step up and down. The platform or step provides an extra boost of aerobic capacity that has less stress on joints than running or jogging. Note: (1/2 semester each)
