LPNC1131 — Medical Surgical Nursing I Clinical Practicum for the Practical Nurse
3 hr(s). This practicum provides hands-on clinical experience designed to build upon the theoretical knowledge acquired in the medical-surgical nursing course. Throughout this practicum, students will gain practical experience in areas such as nutrition, growth and development, pain management, comfort measures, rest and sleep, and end-of-life care, including palliative nursing. They will also learn to manage critical aspects of patient care, including bowel and digestive health, kidney function, fluid balance, and elimination, as well as providing safe, effective postoperative care.
