ARB-1010 — Elementary Arabic

ARB 1010 is a course designed for students who are able to read and write the Arabic alphabet but have little knowledge of Arabic grammar and beginning to intermediate-low speaking skills. It focuses on the four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students learn Modern Standard Arabic, which is the language used for reading and writing Arabic today. Students learn grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading, and writing of the Arabic alphabet in order to produce basic paragraphs. Some conversational Arabic and cultural topics are included. NOTE: Students who have not taken ARB-1000 and who want to enroll in ARB-1010 should have a basic knowledge of the alphabet and the sounds of the language. They will need to contact the Academic Coordinator of Foreign Languages to determine eligibility for this course. Course
