ART-1620 — Digital Publication Design
In this studio course, students are introduced to the technologies and practices used in the design of publications. Students learn about the principles and elements of art and design that apply to printed and screen-based visual communication. Students apply best practices for designing formats that feature visual hierarchy, creative typography, and grid structures. Students also examine the attributes of letterforms and the classifications of typefaces. Additionally, students learn production of high-quality publication formats that clearly convey information, express brand aspirations, and achieve the intended goals. Students assemble an entry-level portfolio of publication formats that integrate text, images, and design elements into effective layouts. Course
