ART-2600 — Ceramics II
In this studio course, students continue to study ceramic concepts, media, and processes to further develop their individual abilities. Students deepen their understanding of design and craftsmanship of the form in clay using expanded hand-building, wheel-throwing, and other techniques for both functional and non-functional works of art. Students continue to practice the complex cycle of ceramic production with extended instruction on glaze theory, clay bodies, and firing techniques. Students investigate contemporary ceramic practices. They apply industry standard documentation practices for three-dimensional works of art. Additionally, students articulate three-dimensional elements and principles of art and design through verbal and written critiques. Course
